Women&rsquo;s bodies handle stress differently than men&rsquo;s bodies, and their complicated systems require a variety of nutrients to perform at optimum levels.  Because a woman&rsquo;s health changes with the cyclical nature of her body, it is important that she keep up with this cycle and supplement her nutritional intake accordingly.  Let&rsquo;s look at how a woman can best do this to maintain peak health all year long.</p>

<p>Many people can benefit from supplementing with Essential Fatty Acids, or EFAs, but they are of utmost import for women.  Not only are they essential for optimum brain functioning, these supplements play an important role in heart health for women.  They are quite beneficial for the hair, skin and nails, all of which concerns are on the top of a woman&rsquo;s list.  </p>
<p>Women will do a lot for the sake of beauty, and it may even include eating fish when they don&rsquo;t like the taste of it.  Salmon is probably the best natural source of EFAs, but if you would prefer to take your fish oil quickly and easily you can do so with a tablet or capsule.  So long as you are diligent with your supplement regimen, you can reap the same benefits as you would by eating a lot of fish. </p>
<p>Another very important supplement for women is folic acid.  The body does not easily manufacture folic acid, so it is important to supplement the diet with this B-vitamin derivative.  It is especially critical for women to get folic acid, especially women of child-bearing years.  Every prenatal vitamin contains folic acid and most practitioners will suggest an additional folic acid supplement even while a pregnant woman is taking a prenatal vitamin. </p>

If you are within the range of child-bearing years and you think you may become pregnant, it is a good idea to start supplementing with folic acid even if you do not anticipate pregnancy for many months.  The best plan for a safe and healthy pregnancy is to build up folic acid in your system prior to the time when a developing fetus may need to rely on it.</p>
<p>Calcium is a mineral that is especially important for women to have in plentiful amounts.  Women are much more prone to osteoporosis, and the chance of developing this debilitating condition can be greatly reduced by taking in sufficient amounts of calcium before you significantly age.  Along with calcium, women should take magnesium in a ratio of 2:1.  Magnesium helps calm anxiety, and more important for women it reduces premenstrual cramps and hormonal fluctuations that cause emotional upset during this time of a woman&rsquo;s cycle.  </p>
<p>During a woman&rsquo;s cycle, certain herbs have been touted as being quite helpful although they remain somewhat controversial as to efficacy and safety.  One herb that is very popular for women is dong quai, which is said to lessen mood swings and cramping and have a direct effect on estrogen and progesterone levels.  </p>

Some women use a cream made from wild yam that you can rub directly into the skin of your hands or elsewhere, and they indicate that it evens your levels of estrogen and progesterone because the herb itself has plant hormone levels similar to those a woman has during her menstrual cycle. </p>
<p> As indicated above, the efficacy and safety levels of these herbs are often the subject of much debate among health professionals.  Last in this list of herbs is black cohosh, which again is used by many to help ease premenstrual symptoms.  It can be taken in tea or tincture form, and also comes in a capsule or tablet if that is preferable.</p>
<p>It is imperative that women supplement their diet with crucial vitamins, minerals and herbs for a number of reasons.  Not only is it important during times of added stress such as menstruation, but a women&rsquo;s body tends to have additional stress for a number of reasons all year long.  </p>

You might get a jolt, but it will only be temporary.   We are just accumulating more and more toxins.</p>

<p>Most everyone these days leads a very fast paced lifestyle so we need our bodies to constantly be ready to get up and go.  Stimulants or uppers are often taken to help you keep up with your lifestyle.  These stimulants come in the form of nicotine, coffee, diet pills, and drugs.  But the true reality is that after the initial shock, our bodies actually reverse and cause a loss of energy, headaches, and depression.  Just the opposite of what we were trying to achieve.</p>

<p>The best way to living a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy and forming healthy eating habits for the long run, has always come from within, within the home that is. We cannot look to others, books, magazines and publications for making us a healthy family or giving us the healthy lifestyle we would want to live. Sure these publications could give us the inspiration and motivation to take that step ourselves and to live a healthy lifestyle of choice. Everything still ends up with the home and family and we need to take that extra step in being courageous consumers when it comes to our choice of food.</p>

<p>One of those choices would be whether we want to continue eating obese foods, such as fast food, refined foods, processed foods or bleached foods. We need to take the responsibility and get back to what Mother Nature provided us, with food in its natural form, without any instructions to refine or process these foods. Obesity is directly linked to bad food choices in the form of highly refined carbohydrates and sugars which really is only a form of poison to our bodies. Gone are the days when considering those foods nutritious or beneficial to our families.<br />
A solution each of us have available is to return to the bygone years of food production, or processing at home, sure it is less convenient, but the benefits are overwhelming an in a sense, you don’t have to watch what you eat really if you are consuming natural, high fibrous and unprocessed food. These foods will not only provide a healthy lifestyle, but will enable you to take care of a healthy family through healthy cooking and eating.</p>
<p>Ways to produce healthy food for your family would be to look at obtaining a grain mill and natural whole wheat grains which you can mill in your own time and for purposes you need such as baking and providing daily natural and fresh bread to your family. Another would be to start a victory garden, or vegetable garden in your back yard or in smaller pots in order to provide your own vegetables and salad items for the table. These foods are so healthy and nutritious for your family that you would reap the benefits almost immediately without worries of consuming unnatural processed and refined foods from the store.<br />
Make healthy cooking and eating a priority for your family and the benefits will be seen before long. Benefits would include healthy digestion, disease fighting nutrition, obesity suppression etc. which will lead to a healthy family and lifestyle you will be grateful for. Not to mention the fun and satisfaction in producing your own food, being independent wholly from buying all your food from the supermarket. You can start your journey on the road of independence and take charge of your healthy eating habits, cooking and eating to promote your healthy family<br />
A last word on healthy eating habits is this: there are many ways to promote the healthy family lifestyle you want and deserve, look at fresh produce you can grow in your own yard, storing whole grain which will last years, and when milled will give you the best and freshest whole wheat flour you can use for all your healthy cooking requirements. Canning vegetables and sauces is very easy too and is a skill you can learn in a very short time. In a day and age where the economic future is uncertain, being able to produce and store your own healthy food is vital to your health and lifestyle you would like to preserve</p>

There are chemicals in the air we breathe, and in the foods that we eat.  But, it&rsquo;s difficult to eliminate those things from our lives completely.</p>

<p>Today&rsquo;s medical advances allow us to live longer, healthier lives.  It&rsquo;s important to try and limit the exposure to toxins and chemicals, and to get them out of your body, in order to stay healthier longer.   Most people are polluting their bodies with toxins, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, processed foods, caffeine, and other substances that can shorten our lives. It is estimated that 25 &#8211; 30 percent of the population is obese in both countries and that obesity will have a detrimental effect on the Health Care System in Canada especially as it is funded by the Canadian tax payers and big corporation taxes.</p>

<p>When one goes to fast food restaurants, grocery stores and those restaurants serving all you can eat, it is very noticeable to recognize those that have an obesity problem.  Whether filling their shopping carts with all the wrong foods and soft drinks at a grocery store or eating to many servings at an all you can eat restaurants, these people do not realize what damage they are doing to their health.</p>
<p>What really is sad is that obese parents of children are definitely not helping their kids when they continue to promote the improper eating habits that they have.   Where are their kids going to be later in life and that will probably be in the same shape as their parents and they will be raising their kids in the same ways as their parents raised them and that is definitely not the right way to do things.</p>
<p>A healthy life style may even be achieved by those that have an obesity problem but will require discipline and that means taking your health serious and that is by the eating of proper foods and by proper exercise.    For one to take charge of their obesity problem is by making an appointment with your local physician to find what you must do to lose weight and what exercise program you must undertake to help you lose weight and maintain your weight.</p>
<p>The recommendations that most physicians will give those with an obesity problem include to quit eating at fast food restaurants, to change ones eating habits meaning eating the right foods and cutting down on the amount of food one eats.   Other recommendations that a physician will give is to exercise and that means to quit being a couch potato and start exercising on a daily basis for a recommended period of time by a physician.</p>
<p>If those that are obese decide to take their weight problem seriously there are as well certain health problems that they may prevent themselves from getting.   These problems include type 11 diabetes, high cholesterol, coronary artery disease, degenerative joint disease and psychosocial disability.  As well in men there are chances of getting colon, rectum or prostate cancer and with women the chance of getting uterus, biliary tract, breast or ovary cancer.</p>
<p>If you are obese and want to make things better for yourself in life, then you will need to take life seriously and that means to start living a healthy lifestyle otherwise you will only end up with serious health problems that could have been prevented.</p>
